# How do you send your market’s funding rounds to HubSpot?

## Short answer

Create a Fundraising signal in Rodz, filtered by round type, amount, headquarters country and industry, turn on persona targeting to get a decision-maker, then switch on HubSpot in the signal’s Integrations tab. Each round lands in HubSpot as a company with a note giving the round type, amount, investors and date. A lead costs 2 credits.

## Key facts

- A funding round costs **2 credits** per lead, plus 0.5 credit per email found, charged on success only.
- The freshness window runs from **24 hours to 12 months** (`announcedPeriod`: `24h`, `7d`, `30d`, `60d`, `90d`, `12m`), 30 days by default.
- Amounts are filtered in **US dollars** (`amountMin`, `amountMax`); the payload also gives the amount in its original currency.
- Rodz identifies **400,000+ signals a month** (July to September 2026 average).

Cost: 2 credits per lead (+0.5 credit per email found)

## Before you start

- A Rodz account with credits (the test account includes 100).
- A HubSpot account where you can install an app (admin rights).
- Your target: round types (seed, Series A...), amount range, headquarters country, industries.

## Steps

### 1. Connect HubSpot to Rodz

In the Rodz dashboard, open **Integrations** and click **HubSpot**. Allow access to the portal in the HubSpot window. Rodz creates its own properties (`last_signal`, `last_signal_date`...).

### 2. Create the Fundraising signal

In **My Signals**, click **Activate Signal** and pick **Fund Raising** and set:

- the **round types** (`investmentTypes`, for example `seed`, `series_a`, `series_b`);
- the **amount range** in US dollars;
- the **freshness**: 30 days by default; on activation, Rodz picks up the rounds announced within that window;
- the **headquarters country** (`hqLocations`): for funding rounds the geographic filter applies to the headquarters, not to a person;
- the **industries** and **size**, and optionally investors to include or exclude.

### 3. Turn on persona targeting to get a contact

Without targeting, the lead is a **company** alone: HubSpot gets the company and the note, no contact. To get a decision-maker, turn on **persona targeting** and pick the roles (for example "CEO", "Finance Director"). By default Rodz delivers the best-ranked contacts; `maxLeadsPerCompany` set to 1 guarantees one contact per company.

Tick **Get emails** if you want the decision-maker’s email (0.5 credit per email found).

`Equivalent configuration (body of POST /api/v1/signals/fundraising)`

    "enablePersonaTargeting": true,
    "targetPersonas": ["CEO", "Finance Director"],
    "maxLeadsPerCompany": 1,
    "getEmails": true
  }
}
```
### 4. Switch on HubSpot for this signal
In the signal’s **Integrations** tab, switch on **HubSpot** and save. Through the API: `PATCH /api/v1/signals/{signal_id}` with `{"destinations": {"hubspot": {"enabled": true}}}`.
`Same setting through the API`
```bash
curl -X PATCH "https://api.rodz.io/api/v1/signals/$SIGNAL_ID" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $RODZ_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"destinations": {"hubspot": {"enabled": true}}, "status": "active"}'
```
### 5. Activate the signal and read the first note
Set the signal to **Active**. In HubSpot, filter companies on **Last Signal**: each record carries a note with the round type, amount, investors and announcement date. The contact, when one was found, is associated with the company.
## Why a funding round is a good moment
A company that just raised has a budget to deploy and a hiring plan, often described in `article_use_of_funds`. It is the right time to offer what supports the funded growth: tools, hiring, advisory. In HubSpot, an active list on `last_signal` and a workflow that assigns the company to the territory rep are enough to miss nothing.
To write to the decision-maker directly, the [funding rounds to lemlist](/en/guides/use-cases/funding-rounds-to-lemlist/) recipe adds the `{{fundingStage}}` and `{{investors}}` variables to your messages.
## Troubleshooting
- **Companies without a contact**: persona targeting is off, or no decision-maker matches your roles. The company is still delivered with its note.
- **No round at all**: widen `announcedPeriod`, the round types or the headquarters country. The signal’s funnel (`GET /api/v1/signals/{signal_id}/funnel`) shows the filter that removes the most.
- **Unexpected amounts**: check that your bounds are in US dollars.
## Frequently asked questions
### Do I get a company or a person?
Both, depending on the setting. Without persona targeting, the lead is the company alone (empty `contact`) and HubSpot gets the company with the note. With targeting, Rodz adds one or more decision-makers, created as contacts associated with the company.
### Where are the amount and the investors in HubSpot?
In the note created on the record (round type, amount, investors, announcement date). The `last_signal` and `last_signal_date` properties let you filter. To store the amount in a property, use a webhook or `GET /api/v1/signals/{signal_id}/leads`.
### Is the amount filter in euros?
No, `amountMin` and `amountMax` are in US dollars. The payload gives the original amount (`funding_amount`, `funding_currency`) and its conversion (`funding_amount_usd`).
### Do I get past rounds on activation?
Yes, within the `announcedPeriod` window (30 days by default, up to 12 months) and the daily lead limit. After that, the signal delivers new rounds as they are announced.
### What does a round with two decision-makers cost?
Each lead delivered costs 2 credits: a round delivered with two contacts counts as two leads. Set `maxLeadsPerCompany` to 1 for one contact per company. Email adds 0.5 credit, only when found.
