TL;DR: Rodz detects intent signals and turns them into qualified leads. The Gong integration takes those leads and drops them straight into a Gong Engage flow as prospects, so your reps get their outreach to-dos automatically. This guide walks through the one-time connection, how to point each signal at a flow, and what happens to a lead behind the scenes.
What this integration does
Rodz watches the market for buying signals: a funding round, a leadership change, a hiring spike, a competitor mention, a public tender. When a signal fires and a contact qualifies, Rodz produces a lead. The Gong integration is one of the destinations that lead can be delivered to.
Concretely: once connected, every qualified lead from a signal you’ve pointed at Gong is added to your Gong workspace and assigned to the Engage flow you chose. From your reps’ side, the prospect simply appears in their flow with the usual to-dos, ready to be worked. No CSV exports, no copy-paste, no waiting for the next sync.
This sits alongside the other Rodz destinations (CRM, cold-email tools, Google Sheets, webhooks). You can send the same signal to several places at once, or route different signals to different flows.
Before you start
You’ll need three things on the Gong side:
- Gong Engage enabled on your plan. Engage flows are the outreach sequences leads get assigned to. If you don’t have Engage, there’s nothing for Rodz to assign into.
- At least one flow created in Gong Engage, with a flow owner. Rodz assigns prospects into an existing flow; it doesn’t create flows for you.
- An admin who can authorize the connection. The integration uses OAuth, so connecting is a one-click consent rather than copying keys around.
On the Rodz side you just need a signal that’s producing leads.
Step 1: Connect Gong
- In Rodz, open Integrations.
- Find the Gong card and click Connect with Gong.
- You’ll be redirected to Gong to approve the connection. Review the requested permissions and confirm.
- You’ll land back on the Integrations page with Gong showing as connected.
That’s the whole setup. Rodz stores the connection securely and refreshes it automatically, so you won’t have to reconnect every day.
When you connect, Rodz also picks a default flow owner (the Gong user whose flow to-dos new prospects are filed under). You can change this per account, or override it per signal in the next step.
Step 2: Point a signal at a flow
A flow is chosen per signal, so each signal can feed a different sequence.
- Open the signal you want to route to Gong and go to its Destinations section.
- Pick the Gong flow from the dropdown. Rodz lists the flows visible to your flow owner.
- Optionally set a flow owner email for this specific signal, if you want its prospects filed under a different rep than the account default.
- Save.
From now on, every qualified lead this signal produces is assigned into that flow.
How it works behind the scenes
Gong assigns prospects to flows by their record in Gong, so a brand-new lead has to exist in Gong first. Rodz handles that in one pass for you:
- The lead is created in your Gong workspace as a prospect record.
- Once Gong has processed it, the prospect is assigned to your chosen flow.
There’s a brief processing step between the two, so a lead occasionally lands in the flow a few moments after it’s created rather than instantly. If a lead can’t be assigned right away, Rodz retries it automatically, so nothing is dropped.
Leads are matched by a stable identifier, which means the same person is never duplicated in Gong if they qualify more than once.
Troubleshooting
The Gong card says connected, but no flows appear in the dropdown. Make sure Gong Engage is enabled and at least one flow exists for the flow owner. Rodz can only list flows that owner can see.
Leads aren’t showing up in the flow. Check that the signal’s Destinations section has a flow selected and saved, that the signal is active, and that the contacts it produces have an email. Company-only signals (no person attached) aren’t eligible for flow assignment.
I changed my flow and want to reroute. Just pick the new flow in the signal’s Destinations and save. New leads follow the new flow immediately; leads already assigned stay where they are.
Put your best signals on autopilot
The whole point of an intent signal is timing: a fresh signal converts several times better than a cold list, but only for a short window. Wiring Rodz into Gong Engage closes that window automatically, your reps open Gong and the right prospects are already queued in the right sequence.
Connect Gong from the Integrations page, point your highest-intent signal at a flow, and let the next qualified lead route itself.
