The best B2B buying signal tools in 2026

Event-based signals, topic intent, website visitors: 11 tools compared on what they detect, their European coverage and their public prices.

Updated by Peter Cools

The short answer

The best tool depends on the signal you need. To receive events (funding, hiring, job changes, public tenders, engagement with a competitor) with the right contact, straight into your CRM or sequence, Rodz covers 46 signal types across France, Europe and beyond. For topic intent, Bombora and 6sense are the references. For your website visitors, Leadfeeder. For job changes of your existing customers at enterprise scale, UserGems.

Key facts

  • Three tool families share the word "signal": event-based signals (what happened at the company), topic intent (what the company reads) and website visitor identification.
  • Rodz identifies 400,000+ signals and delivers 80,000+ qualified leads a month (July to September 2026 average).
  • A signal is worth most in the 48 hours after detection: in that window we measure a reply rate 4 times that of a cold list (Rodz internal measurement).
  • Rodz signals are already integrated by lemlist, Cargo, Bulldozer, Kalent, The Sales Engine, Overloop, Sinky and Extrovert, and used by teams such as Aircall, OpenClassrooms and JobTeaser.
  • Only the European and French tools in this list publish explicit European coverage; the US platforms stay general.
  • Public prices checked on October 12, 2026 range from €0 (free tiers of Leadfeeder and Sygnara) to $40,000 a year (UserGems Core).

How we compared

Rodz publishes this page and ranks itself first: we say so up front. We rank tools by the job each does best, on four criteria: the signal types covered, coverage of France and Europe, price transparency, and how the signal reaches your tools (manual, export, or pushed automatically).

Facts about each tool come from its public pages, read on October 12, 2026, linked at the bottom of each card. We only list a price when the vendor displays it.

Buying signals, intent data, visitors: what are we comparing?

"Signal" covers three very different things, and mixing them up is the most common mistake when choosing a tool.

  • Event-based signals (business signals or trigger events): a dated, public fact at the company. A funding round, a job posting, a new director, a public contract won, a connection with a competitor's rep. You know what and when, so you know what to write.
  • Topic intent: an account reading more about a subject, measured across a network of publisher sites (Bombora) or review sites (G2). You know an account cares about a topic, without knowing who or why.
  • Visitor identification: companies coming to your own website. A strong signal, but limited to accounts that already know you.

These families complement each other. Outbound teams usually start with event-based signals, because they come with a contact and a reason to write. To go further, read intent signals vs intent data.

How to choose a buying signal tool

  1. Start from your trigger. Do you sell to companies that hire, raise, change leadership, or look at a competitor? Pick the tool that produces that exact signal, not the one that claims the most.
  2. Check coverage of your market. US platforms cover the US well; for France and the rest of Europe, ask for recent examples in your industry.
  3. Look at where the signal lands. A dashboard to check every morning gets forgotten. A signal pushed into HubSpot, Pipedrive or a lemlist campaign the same day gets used.
  4. Compute the cost per useful lead, not the subscription price: a usage-based tool that does not charge off-target leads can cost less than an under-used subscription.
  5. Test for a month. A good signal is judged by its reply rate, not its volume.

Combining tools

The most effective teams often pair an event-based signal source with a sending tool. Rodz pushes leads natively into lemlist, La Growth Machine, Instantly, Smartlead and Emelia, and into HubSpot, Pipedrive and Attio on the CRM side. Salesforce, Clay, Make or n8n connect by webhook or API.

If you already use Bombora or 6sense, event-based signals add to your scoring rather than replace it: see Bombora and 6sense alternatives.

A note on Trigify, often cited for LinkedIn engagement: its site says the team is joining HubSpot and product access ends on October 22, 2026 (source). We therefore did not rank it.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the signal. For a flow of events (funding, hiring, job changes, public tenders, competitor engagement) delivered with the contact into your CRM, Rodz covers 46 signal types with deep European coverage. For topic intent, Bombora and 6sense. For website visitors, Leadfeeder. For enterprise champion tracking, UserGems.
An event-based signal tells you what happened at a company (a round, a hire, a new leader) and when. Topic intent, like Bombora, tells you an account is reading more about a subject. The first gives you a reason to write to a specific person; the second helps you prioritise accounts.
Public prices checked in October 2026 range from €0 (free tiers of Leadfeeder and Sygnara) to $40,000 a year (UserGems Core). Bombora, 6sense, Cognism and Decidento do not publish prices. Rodz has no subscription: 0.5 to 12 credits per delivered lead, with credits from €0.10 down to €0.05 by volume.
Tools built in Europe publish explicit European coverage: Rodz (France, Europe and worldwide, data hosted in Europe), Leadfeeder (EU-built, European trade registers), Cognism (EMEA first), Vainu (Nordics), and French specialists such as Pharow and Sygnara. The US platforms in this list do not publish country-level European coverage.
With Rodz, yes: HubSpot, Pipedrive, Attio, lemlist, La Growth Machine, Instantly, Smartlead, Emelia and Google Sheets are native integrations, chosen signal by signal. Most other tools in the list also offer CRM integrations, detailed on their pages.
